The Deer Dance

My Dearest,

my words will fail

to truly voice

the intimacy

immersed in

my eyes, essence

a Doe appears

wades gently

through plumes and reeds

in Her wake

two Fawns skip behind

The Trio breezes

into the open shallow pool

mellow music

Birds abound

swish-swish

the only other sound

as The Fawns

hop-hop

prance, splash around

in grandeur, grace

in immense sadness

I trembled, I cried

my vision embedded

the Deer, the Ducks

sharing this sacred space

My Beloved,

forgive me

I abandoned

your gossamer kiss

heated embrace

but I can never replace

this once in a lifetime

perchance

my final time

to behold

The Deer Dance
